The Triangle Book & Debate Club's mission is to inspire and educate young learners. I believe that engaging with young children to share learnings from my personal experience with debate competitions will be valuable. The club provides a platform to those who are looking to improve their communication skills and critical thinking in a supportive environment.
Through weekly debate classes, reading session, and discussing literature, I aim to promote empathy, understanding, and personal growth. My commitment to promoting intellectual growth and personal development among our members is reflected in the activities and programs I offer.

The debate club is designed to help young learners improve their public speaking and critical thinking skills through weekly debate competitions. Each class will include discussion topics regarding the books we read. Members will have the opportunity to explore various topics, form and articulate their opinions, and learn how to present their arguments persuasively.
Through the debate club, I hope to help members develop their self-confidence, enhance their communication skills, and learn how to respectfully engage in conversations with others.
The book club is designed to help young learners develop their reading skills, cultivate their interests in literature, and learn from each other. Each month, I will select a book for members to read and discuss. Through the book club, members will have the opportunity to engage in stimulating conversations, broaden their perspectives, and develop their analytical skills.

The Triangle Book & Debate Club is a community-based group that aims to promote the love of literature and critical thinking skills among young learners through the avenues of reading and debate.
The Triangle Book & Debate Club is open to young children in grades 3 to 8 (elementary and middle school). Class groups are made based on the age group. We believe that it is important to introduce children to the world of debate and critical thinking at a young age, as it lays a strong foundation for their future intellectual and personal development. Our club is designed to be a safe and nurturing environment where young learners can explore their passions, improve their skills, and become better communicators. We welcome all children who are interested in developing these important life skills, and we are committed to supporting each and every member of our club.
My session/class schedule varies based on the season and ongoing discussions. For the most up-to-date information, please refer to the "Class Schedule, and Info" page of the website which features an online synced up-to-date calendar. This calendar will provide all the necessary information regarding class dates, times, and topics being covered. Additionally, you can also find information about the books being read, the debate topics being discussed, and any other relevant information needed for the class. I strive to keep our calendar as accurate as possible to ensure that our members can plan accordingly and get the most out of their time with me. The calendar will be up to date a month prior to the session.
Yes, there is a membership fee to cover the cost of resources and materials for the club. However, I strive to keep the fees as affordable as possible to make the club accessible to all interested learners.
You can get involved with the Triangle Book & Debate Club by filling out the form under contact us section. I would be happy to answer any additional questions you may have!
I take great care in selecting the books for the book club, with the instructor handpicking titles based on the interests and preferences of the class. However, I always welcome suggestions from members and their parents/guardians. If you have a book that you would like me to consider, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can make any necessary accommodations.
If a student needs to cancel their attendance for a club session, they must notify the instructor at least 2 days before the scheduled session. Fees for any canceled sessions cannot be refunded.
Unfortunately, your child cannot attend just one of our clubs. The entire club is made of two parts that they go hand in hand as participation in both my book and debate club makes for a well-rounded and holistic development. My book club promotes reading, critical thinking, and empathy while our debate club fosters critical thinking, communication, and public speaking skills. By participating in both clubs, your child will have the opportunity to develop a broad range of skills and interests that will serve them well in their academic and personal lives.
However, I do offer just debate classes as well and that class is only one part class.
Each session is designed to be one hour long and is split into two parts:- 30 minutes dedicated to book and 30 minutes dedicated to the debate club. During the debate portion, students will have the opportunity to engage in discussion and practice their critical thinking and communication skills. In the book club section, students will delve into the selected book, discuss the themes, and participate in related activities. To ensure an optimal learning environment, I ask that students refrain from bringing any food items to the class. However, they are welcome to bring drinks of their choice to have during the session. I strive to create a safe and comfortable space for all students to learn and engage with their peers. If you have any specific concerns or questions regarding the session format or restrictions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
The goal is to keep each class limited to 10 students maximum.
Each session is designed to be one hour long and will be offered weekly.
Each session is designed to be one hour long and is split into two parts:- 30 minutes dedicated to book and 30 minutes dedicated to the debate club. Every effort will be made by me for the child to catch up and bring them up to speed. Yes, they can absolutely join in the middle, however, the best is to join right from the first session.
Parents are welcome to wait outside or drop their child. Each session will be an hour long.
I feel a minimum of 4 sessions is needed to be impactful.
